Our TAGteach™ certified staff consists of highly regarded professional dancers and performing artists, each with exceptional teaching experience. Our teachers cultivate enthusiasm in our students through their own joy in dance and out of their sincere love for children (we TAG, we don’t nag!).
Sean C. Fielder
Sean started dancing at the age of 3 at the Roxbury Center for the Performing Arts. He believes that growing up at the RCPA was the best thing that ever happened to him. At just age 10, Sean’s first professional credit was the Jazz Tap Hip Hop Festival at the Dance Umbrella run by Jeremy Alliger. From that moment he realized that tap was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. 1997 was a great year for Sean. At just 18 years of age, he participated in a program in NYC called Funk University. While in NYC that year, Sean was featured in Missy Elliot’s video The Rain and was selected for the national touring company of Savion Glover’s Tony Award winning show Bring in Da Noise Bring in Da Funk. Sean started the tour as an understudy then worked his way into the lead role. During the tour Sean performed for: Hillary Clinton, Jay Leno, Sin bad, CNN World News and on many TV shows. Following Noise Funk, Sean was featured on tour with Debbie Allen and Dick Clark for the American Heart Association. Sean has also been featured on channel 5 Chronicle, WBUR with Andrea Shea, To the Pointe with Devin Hill and has been highlighted in respected print media including The Boston Herald, The Boston Metro, The Phoenix, The Washington Time, Broadside Style.
Sean has performed in the 2007-2008 presentation of the
Bean Town Tap Festival and the
Urban Nutcracker. In October of 2007, Sean created the
Boston Tap Company. BTC has since performed and been enthusiastically acclaimed at MASS MOCA – Dianne Walker and Friends, Jacob’s Pillow – Inside/Out Summer Series, Rhythm In The Night 1 & 2 (Choreographed by Sean Fielder), The New England Urban Music Awards, Velocity Magazine Awards in Washington DC, World Trade Center Boston – Boston Medical Center’s Halloween Town, Hibernian Hall – Act Roxbury Festival of Dance, The South End House, East Coast Hip-Hop Throw Down, BeanTown Tap Festival 08, Regent Theatre – Tapestry 07-08, Hyde Park Arts Scene, Out of Africa Performance, DC Tap Festival – Youth Showcase, NY City Tap Festival – Tap Youth Future Concert, Topsfield Fair, UMASS Boston – National Elder Expo, Pink Gala Benefit for Breast Cancer and is proud that BTC continues to be in demand throughout New England and beyond.
