SUMMER ROCKS AT A DANCER’S DREAM!

Each summer we bring in a host of spectacular visiting teachers to join our qualified and certified veteran teaching staff to create a vibrant range of technique classes, choreography workshops and often a performance opportunity. Our program is available in a traditional two week "camp" format (daily) for a wide range of ages designed to engage and inspire!

Dance Dayz

At this time we are finalizing our summer guest teacher contracts. Here's a peek at who was here last year. You can bet the same high caliber teachers will join us this season and, likely, many of our favorites will return! Stay tuned ;o)

2012 Summer Teachers included: Straight off their Excel In Motion teaching tour, Brian Henninger & Casie Tynee GoShow presented their beyond popular Hip Hop fundamentals workshop. Two of the area's most well loved ballet masters Roseann Ridings and Gene Murray were in studio and, in the Acro/Contortion department, former ranked US Jr National Team member Ada Moisescu had our dancers twiting and turning. As well, our dancers jammed with a slew of the finest rhythm tap teachers in the New England area including Sean Shizz Fielder founder of Boston Tap Company and Dan Mitra BTC company member and dance competition director Stacie Resendes-Ferreira. Also with us last summer were studio favorites Kai Le (Hip Hop) and KelliAnn Nave (Jazz & Theatre Dance), Ann Donohue (Ballet, Modern/Contemporary), Kelsey Nestor (Modern/Contemporary) and Melissa Powers (Jazz, Tap).

You can expect this season to include more of the same! Additionally, and because we love experiencing diverse styles, Cultural Folk Dancing will continue to be explored as we welcome a selection of guest teachers from far and wide. And let's not forget our Alumni! Many of your favorites will be back to the studio fresh from their worldly dance adventures to share their experiences and inspire their studio sisters and brothers.

Pre-School & Primary Dancemix Class Series

Our Summer Pre-School & Primary classes offer a great way to introduce your child to the joy of dance. Got 5 or more friends looking for a dance class this summer? We'd love to book a six week series for you - just give us a call or drop us an e-mail and we'll schedule a series convenient for your group.

Please note: Age is determined as of Sept. 1, 2013. All programs are co-ed and fully adult supervised.

SUMMER CLASS SERIES (6-week session)

Pre-School Dancemix
Ages 2.6–3 yrs, Day/Time to be determined. Cost: $78
Created for the little ones who just can't wait to dance! Original games & activities introduce Basic Ballet, Jazz, Tumbling & More.

Primary Dancemix
Ages 4–6 yrs, Day/Time to be determined. Cost: $78
A program built for fun! Combines classic & original exercises to introduce & expand your child's view of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, & Tumbling.

SUMMER DANCE DAYZ (2 weeks, Mon thru Fri)

Dance Dayz (1/2 day)
Entering Grades 1 –12, 9 am–2 pm. Cost: $575
Daily classes & workshops in a wide range of styles including: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Hip Hop, Cultural, Modern, Folk, etc, etc, etc AND a daily choreography workshop (a fav among our alumni)! Weekdays 7/22–8/2 [Dream Team: Each Dance Day completed counts as 3 hours toward your Summer Technique hour requirement]

Dance Dayz (full)
Entering Grades 1 –12, 9 am–4 pm. Cost: $725
A full day version of the above includes daily outdoor activities (weather permitting). Weekdays 7/22–8/2 [Dream Team: Each Dance Day completed counts as 3 hours toward your Summer Technique hour requirement]

Teacher’s Apprentice Program (S-TAP)
Entering Grades 9+, 9 am–4 pm. Cost: $575
Apprentices take all classes/workshops along with their age/level appropriate dancemates. While assisting teachers and directors, S-TAPers learn class management skills and techniques. Limited spaces available. Written essay applications must be remitted by March 30, 2013. Weekdays 7/22–8/2

 

PERSONALIZED PLAN (to be completed by August 31st)

At $80/hr, Private Lessons are definitely not the most cost effective way to meet your summer team requirement. We strongly advise you to work out your summer schedule to insure your dancer can attend our Dance Dayz program outlined above. If that is not possible, Private & Semi-Private Lessons may be arranged via written request. Please be sure to carefully review our Team Requirements Page for full details and expectations. [Private class hours count one-for-one toward your Summer Technique hour requirement]
